What we're all about.....

The Hopkins Minnetonka Family Resource Center is now thirteen years old - the result of a collaborative effort of the City of Hopkins, Hopkins School District, the faith community, area agencies, businesses and many individuals.  Today, these same groups are involved in the funding and direction of the Center. The City of Minnetonka became a partner in the Resource Center six years ago.

Direct Services include:

·         Community Connections.  Information and Referral service servicing over 6.600 customers during 2007.

·         Toy Chest.  Served over 700 children from Hopkins/Minnetonka

·         Back to School supply drive.  Provided school supplies to over 940 children.

  • Tax Preparation Assistance.  Provided assistance to 486 customers with refunds totaling nearly $824,807 in 2007!

·         Project Starfish.  Offering one-on-one support to those who need additional assistance with issues and concerns in 2007 we helped 327 clients and made 492 referrals.

·         Winter Warm Wear.  Providing jackets, hats, boots, mittens and snowpants to over 700 low income children.

 

·         Working relationship with Intercongregation Communities Association (ICA).  Providing services to customers lacking transportation to their Minnetonka site. We distributed 1,156 boxes of food in 2007. (Emergency Food bags, Food certificates, bus tokens...)

·         Agencies / organzations providing on-site services at the Family Resource Center:  Teens Alone, Hennepin County Economic Assistance, and Related Counseling.

  • HousingLink site.  Offering a list of affordable housing rentals in Hennepin County
